Hexagon is a Michelin-starred French restaurant in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.[4][5]
History
[edit]The business was opened in September 2017 by restauranteur Artur Koczur, who previously operated a cafe in the same space.[5][6] Koczur sold the business in spring 2023 to new ownership.[3]
The restaurant's kitchen is headed by Rafael Covarrubias, who started as the restaurant's sous-chef in 2017 before becoming executive chef a year later.[2][5] Covarrubias' cooking is recognized for using French techniques while drawing from his Mexican roots.[2]
The interior of the restaurant incorporates several design elements inspired by its namesake, the hexagon.[6]
The restaurant has an open kitchen and offers a tasting menu.[3]
Recognition
[edit]The restaurant received a Michelin star in the 2024 edition of the Toronto and Region Michelin Guide.[2] It is the first and only restaurant in Toronto's suburban Halton Region to receive a Michelin star. Head chef Covarrubias was also recognized at the 2024 ceremony with the 'Michelin Young Chef Award' for the region.[2]
