Hanumantia is an island situated in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. This island is under the administration and development of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. The island's name is derived from a local village of the same name, located in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh.

Hanumantia, a tourist attraction, showcases the region's natural geography. The island features various recreational and hospitality facilities to cater to tourists. These facilities are part of an initiative by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation to boost tourism.

Transport

The nearest airport is Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport in Indore district,[1] which is approximately 150 km from Hanuwantiya.[1] The nearest railway station is in Khandwa district and is 50 km from the island.[1] Hanuwantiya is approximately 150 kms away from Indore by road and approximately 170 kms away from Omkareshwar.[1]

Weather

Three major weather conditions can be experienced on the island. In the month of November, the cold begins, which remains till March. During the winter, the average temperature in the morning is 5 °C and the mean temperature in the afternoon is 15 °C. The summer starts in April and lasts until June. At that time the average temperature is around 45 °C (during the day) and 24 °C after sunset. The island's monsoon season starts in July and ends in October.

Water festival

The water festival was organized for the first time from 12 to 21 February 2016. During the festival, many activities were organized by the tourism department, such as kite flying, volleyball, star gazing, cycling, parasailing, and birdwatching.
