DescriptionRep. Betty McCollum on the Death of Rep. Jim Hagedorn.ogg
English: The House passed two of three bills voted on under suspension of the rules. One of the two that were approved designates lynching as a hate crime, and the other awards the Congressional Gold Medal to the members of the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) who were assigned to the 6,888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, known as the Six Triple Eight. The bill that did not pass would have outlawed discrimination based on hairstyle or hair texture. Members of the Minnesota delegation paid tribute to former Representative Jim Hagedorn (R-MN), who died of kidney cancer on February 17, 2022, and the House observed a moment of silence for the late congressman.
