English: Raffaele Calace (pictured here with a Liuto Cantabile was an Italian lutenist and luthier, whose company made a variety of mandolin-family instruments. Raffaele was also a composer, with more than mandolin works.
The image was published in the book, "Mandolin Memories" by Samuel Adelstein, itself a reprint of articles from the Cadenza Music Magazine, published in 1901.
