Description
English: Image of Psychodidae (drain- or moth flies) obtained by scanning electron microscopy with about 200-nm resolution, viewed from above. The specimen was found in IBCh RAS (Moscow). The insects body and wings are covered with different hairy structures giving them a "furry" moth-like appearance. Different areas of the main body, wings and whiskers are covered with long hair, and the legs are covered with leaf-like structrures. The main body is irregularly shaped and covered with very short hair. The specimen is fixed on an adhesive conductive tape.
