Elijah Dotson (born November 8, 2006)[1] is an American college football defensive back for the Michigan Wolverines.

Early life and high school

[edit]

Dotson attended the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy for three years before transferring to Belleville High School for his senior season. At Belleville he played safety and wide receiver, and was a teammate of Bryce Underwood.[2][3] In high school, Dotson was rated as a four-star recruit, the second best player in the state of Michigan (behind Underwood), and a top 200 player nationally in the class of 2025.[4] He held offers from schools such as Auburn, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Wisconsin.[5] Dotson initially committed to play college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers.[6] However on November 20, 2024, he flipped his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines, staying in-state to play under head coach Sherrone Moore.[7] Following his senior season, he was named to the Michigan Associated Press Division 1-2 All-State Team, earning honors as a wide receiver.[8]

College career

[edit]

On December 4, 2024, Dotson officially signed his national letter of intent (NLI) during the early signing period to play college football at the University of Michigan.[9][10]
