You haven't mentioned any text below. What text do you want to add? Do you just want to add the reference from indiaeducationdiary.in you added above? Where in the article do you want it? Please be specific. Wikishovel (talk) 10:38, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"Before stepping into his current role, he made significant contributions at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), where he held key positions such as Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dean of the Faculty of International Studies, and Chairman various departments including West Asian and North African Studies, South African and Brazilian Studies, and Foreign Languages. His leadership extended to vital institutional bodies like the AMU Court, Executive Council, and Academic Council, as well as several Boards of Studies and Advisory Committees.
He holds a MPhil and Phd from JNU New Delhi. With over three decades of experience in teaching, research and administration he has supervised more then 20 doctoral and post doctoral scholars.
As a prolific author and editor, Dr. Iqbal has contributed to leading journals like the Journal of West Asian Studies, the Indian Journal of International Relations, and the West Asia Bulletin. His extensive body of work includes several books and over 50 research publications in prominent national and international journals. He is also an active participant in academic forums, having delivered more than 40 papers at seminars worldwide. His research has taken him to countries including France, Israel, the UK, Sweden, Norway, Austria, and Hungary.
Dr. Iqbal’s dedication to education and scholarship has significantly enriched both AMU and the broader field of International Relations. His work continues to inspire and shape academic thought and policy, reflecting his commitment to excellence and global understanding".
The source cited [2] doesn't support most of what's proposed; it simply says that he was appointed vice-chancellor of BGSBU, and was formerly dean and chairman at AMU, and the article already says that.
The tone of the text is highly promotional: phrases like "Dr. Iqbal’s dedication to education and scholarship has significantly enriched both AMU and the broader field of International Relations." are appropriate for a press release, but not for an encyclopedia, which must be written from a WP:Neutral point of view. Dr. Iqbal has significantly contributed to AMU through his academics, research and administrative experience. His research contributions to the field of International Relations are widely recognised.
Please use this after first paragraph . Also delete the last paragraph"Iqbal has held several administrative positions at AMU, including Dean of the Faculty of International Studies and chairman of various departments. He specialises in international relations"[3]. I have also added a reference Danish Iqbal Raina (talk) 11:31, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The source cited [4] still doesn't support most of what's proposed. Wikipedia is particularly careful about what's written in WP:Biographies of living persons, so we need to WP:Verify all of what's written about a living person. Our personal experience of someone counts for nothing here, so we need references from reliable sources. Wikishovel (talk) 11:38, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am adding more refrences. Hope this will be helpful
Not Done. Request is purely promotional in intent. If Professor Iqbal wishes to install promotional information about himself on the internet then he will need to do so on his own website or social media, not on an encyclopaedia. Axad12 (talk) 15:42, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, you have a conflict of interest and you have attempted to introduce material of a highly promotional nature. That is contrary to the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia so this COI edit request has been turned down.
You are going out of context. I have repeatedly said that this is not promotional. And I m not promoting my boss. It is about the Vice Chancellor of a public university. Danish Iqbal Raina (talk) 03:03, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am telling you that it is promotional. I am not the only user to hold that opinion. As far as I am concerned that is the end of the matter. Axad12 (talk) 03:07, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is a website with policies and guidelines in relation to what sort of material can be added. The material that you have repeatedly tried to introduce is way outside of those policies and is not going to be included in the article under any circumstances.

No, because the material is highly promotional and is very closely paraphrased (to the extent of being a copyright violation) from the university profile page for this individual.

Not Done for the reasons already outlined at great length above. If you cannot see why this material is promotional and inappropriate then you would appear to have a serious competency problem. I would therefore suggest that you limit yourself to operating on a version of Wikipedia in a language in which you are fluent. Axad12 (talk) 03:44, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The additions you are trying to make cannot be made. The material is obviously promotional and has been very closely paraphrased from here [9]. At least 3 different users have opposed the introduction of this material and the article has now been protected by another user to prevent you from continuing to try to add it to the article.
Therefore please stop attempting to introduce this inadmissible material to Wikipedia. You are wasting a large amount of volunteer time with these requests - which must now stop. Axad12 (talk) 03:57, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Danish Iqbal Raina -- I've added the educational background for you. What are the titles of the subject's authored books? If you provide title, publisher, year of publication and ISBNs here on the talk page then I see no reason why they should not be listed, but I'm not seeing them on the subject's Google Scholar profile [10]. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 04:18, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Danish Iqbal Raina. I noticed that after I moved this article to Draft space for lack of demonstrated WP:Notability, you immediately submitted it for Afc review. You have a perfect right to do so, and you needn't do anything different in response to this message, if you do not wish to. However, as the Draft pending notice explains, Afc review is not a queue—review might happen quickly (there's a fair chance of that) or it may take many months. It would be a shame to wait many months, only to hear back that you need to add more significant coverage from several WP:INDEPENDENT, WP:SECONDARY, reliable sources, when we already know that to be the case. So, you can increase your chances of Afc approval, simply by adding citations to three or more sources of the type that will demonstrate WP:Notability. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to respond here, or you can ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse. Cheers, Mathglot (talk) 10:07, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Presumably the reason that the user made the early submission was because they knew that the SPI [11] that was already underway would result in them being blocked. Axad12 (talk) 02:08, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There appears to be a question about the applicability of WP:NPROF criterion 6 versus WP:PAGEDECIDE and WP:PERMASTUB for this topic. which is linked to the outcome of questions about BGSB University. If I understand the comment of 00:35, 5 January by David Eppstein in the discussion at WT:NPROF correctly, NPROF criterion #6 may confer a status of "notable" on the Iqbal topic even with minimal coverage of Iqbal, as long as his status as vice-chancellor is well sourced, and BGSBU is regarded as a "major academic instititution". (This is currently under discussion there.) This leads to a question about what article should host information about Iqbal, if deemed notable.
Given the difficulty thus far of finding sources with a significant amount of coverage about Iqbal, a standalone article on Iqbal may never grow larger than a stub. This leads to the question about whether to create a standalone page for Iqbal, or if "it is better to cover [the topic] as part of a larger page about a broader topic, with more context" (such as the the university page, if it becomes an article). However, the "major instititution" question should be resolved first, as the WP:PAGEDECIDE question about Iqbal may become moot depending on the consensus about the university. Interested editors here should watch the outcome of that discussion. Mathglot (talk) 00:37, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm inclined towards the position that BGSBU, while notable, is not significant enough for automatic WP:PROF#C6 notability for Iqbal. And with Iqbal so newly appointed, the case for notability through WP:GNG instead is likely to run into issues with WP:BIO1E unless he can be shown to be notable for more than one thing, for instance through his scholarship (perhaps he has written books that have been reviewed in academic journals, for instance). —David Eppstein (talk) 01:22, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
