Ziad El Chaar (born 1973, Beirut, Lebanon) is a Lebanese business executive based in the GCC, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of DarGlobal. He is also the Chairman of Wasalt Real Estate Services and Vice Chairman of Quara Holding.[1] Over his career, El Chaar has held leadership positions in several prominent real estate and development companies, overseeing projects across the Middle East, Europe, and other global markets.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Ziad El Chaar was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1973.[2] He completed his secondary education at the International College in Beirut in 1987 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1990, followed by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1998 from the American University of Beirut.[3]
Career
[edit]El Chaar began his career in 1993 at Fattal Holding SAL while pursuing his MBA. Starting as a sales manager, he advanced to the role of Group Executive Director by 2001.[4]
In 2005, El Chaar joined DAMAC Properties, where he held various senior roles, including Vice President of International Sales, General Manager of Operations, and Managing Director and Executive Director of the board of directors.[5][4] During his tenure, he oversaw the development of large-scale projects, such as a Trump-branded golf course and residential development in Dubai, working closely with President Donald Trump and daughter Ivanka on the launch of their first project in the city.[2]
El Chaar also contributed to DAMAC's growth in regional and international markets before resigning in 2017 after 12 years, including six as Managing Director.[6]
In 2017, El Chaar was appointed CEO of Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development, leading the company’s diversification into international markets through partnerships with luxury brands.[7]
In 2018, El Chaar briefly served as CEO of Ventures and Business Development at Emaar Properties, focusing on international markets and innovative real estate projects.[5]
Since 2019, El Chaar has served as CEO of DarGlobal, which focuses on developing luxury second homes and vacation properties catering to internationally mobile clients[8]. Established in 2017 as the international development subsidiary of Dar Al Arkan, DarGlobal has collaborated with brands such as Missoni, Versace, Lamborghini, Mouawad, and The Trump Organization on projects in Dubai, Oman, Jeddah, Spain, and other global locations[9]. In 2023, DarGlobal was listed on the London Stock Exchange.[10]
The company has also announced plans to expand into the hospitality sector, targeting markets such as Spain, Dubai, the Maldives, Athens, and London. In June 2024, DarGlobal unveiled Trump International Oman, a five-star hotel and residential project scheduled to open in December 2028.[9]

Previously, he served as Non-Executive Director at Al-Tajamouat for Touristic Projects, from 2020 to 2024.[3]

[edit]Ziad is married to Maya Waked, a singer, writer, and journalist, and they have a daughter, Mia, who works as a film writer and director.
