Submission declined on 20 August 2024 by CNMall41 (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. Declined by CNMall41 4 months ago. |
- Comment: Creating wikilinks to nonexistent Wikipedia articles and making comments does not make the subject notable. Furthermore, most of the draft has no references. Shadow311 (talk) 23:57, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: again, nothing is shown for notability since the deletion discussion in June. Since last decline, no references added, just discography information (from pre-deletion discussion) and more prose without references. CNMall41 (talk) 23:40, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: AfD discussion closed in June as delete. I do not see anything that has happened since that time that shows notability. There is one new source from July but one new source (assuming it is reliable) is not going to do it unfortunately. CNMall41 (talk) 08:40, 20 August 2024 (UTC)

Ron Johnson[1][better source needed] (born 2003; age 21),[citation needed], known by his stage name Yuno Miles, is an American rapper and comedy musician from Detroit.[2][3][4] He is known for his music that takes a satirical depiction of hip hop with nonsensical and provocative lyrics. Miles has founded a satirical record label called TrashBag Records, and collaborated with other satirical rappers, such as Smokepurpp, BRBLuhTim, DigBar, TickleMyTip, and Xanakin Skywok. One of his collaborators, TJ Major, helped Miles form a company that films Miles’ music videos. The company was known as Major Productions until April 2024, when it was rebranded as Yunoversal Pictures. Yunoversal has been a subsidiary of Miles’ label TrashBag Records since 2022, while TrashBag itself has been active since 2021. Miles has also collaborated with Kanye West as a feature on the album Vultures 2.
RapReviews gave his album Yuno I Can't Rap (2020) a 4/10, saying that they could not tell whether he was "parodying rap or if he’s that bad at rapping", and concluded that it did not matter since they viewed the output to not be good.[5] On August 23, 2024, Yuno Miles was featured on the song "Bomb" by ¥$ during a live performance in Seoul.[6][7] The Yuno Miles version of "Bomb" received a music video later the same year on November 27.[8] North West, who featured on the song, regarded Yuno Miles as one of her favorite artists.[9]
Yuno Miles first began releasing music on SoundCloud in 2019 with his first released song "Pokemon", which featured a trap remix of the Futurama theme song. He became known for producing songs that were satirical, blending humor with elements of mainstream rap. From 2020 to 2023, Miles rapped alongside his cousin Yuno Marr in a rap duo they formed known as the Hood Rejects. Marr also served as a producer on some of Miles' songs like "Dinosaur", "Put The Money In The Bag", and "Find A Job". Marr’s rapping voice has attracted attention in the comments for resembling the voice of the character Eric Cartman from South Park. He was eventually replaced by BRBLuhTim, who became Yuno's most frequent collaborators.
Musical style and impact
[edit]Yuno Miles’ music is characterized by its association with meme rap, a genre that mixes internet culture with hip-hop. His tracks often feature playful, exaggerated lyrics and unconventional vocal effects. Songs like “Road to Riches” and “Put The Money In The Bag” have contributed to his growing popularity online, with the latter achieving viral success on TikTok. All of his songs are shown as written by Ron Johnson, although it is unknown if this is Miles’ true legal name. In the summer of 2024, Yuno briefly changed his name to "Juno Miles". This was for an in-joke for the promotion of his album Orange is Loading, as Miles was supposedly kidnapped in the music video for the album’s single “Chowder”. Fans joked that the kidnapper was his evil twin, Juno Miles, and that Juno had taken over Yuno’s channel for two weeks, and the album sadly never came out.
Promotional stunts
[edit]As stated before, Miles renamed his channel to “Juno Miles” in August as an in-joke after he was kidnapped in the “Chowder” music video, to promote the album Orange is Loading. Miles has also made two “quitting YouTube” videos, both of which were publicity stunts. The initial video was an April Fool’s joke to go along with the preexisting joke that day, consisting of Miles making actually good pop-rap songs. He returned shortly under the new alias ItsMiles, rebranding back to Yuno Miles again in May. The second one was posted on September 5, stating that he made no money off his songs, and that he still lived at his grandma’s house in Detroit. Four days later, he dropped the song “Yuno vs. the World”, and responded to a Discord message on his server, that asked about the release date of his upcoming 17th studio album Ultra. He said that the album would release in 2025.
Influence and cultural impact
[edit]Yuno Miles is often linked to the broader meme rap movement, where artists produce content that is intentionally humorous or satirical. His music appeals to audiences who appreciate this blend of comedy and music, making him a notable figure in the genre. Yuno's work has been recognized by figures such as Jimmy Fallon, Doja Cat, Anthony Fantano, and Kanye West and his daughter North, the latter of whom has cited Miles to be one of her three favorite rappers, alongside Tyler, the Creator, and Nicki Minaj. His most notable appearance was his appearance on the remix of "BOMB", first appearing during Kanye's Vultures 2 listening party in South Korea. His presence was stated to be North's idea, but it is unknown how West himself feels about Miles.
