Yi Shi (Chinese: 石一, Japanese:いし はじめ) is a Chinese-German entrepreneur and investor.

Early life and education

Shi was born in 1989 in Shanghai, China. Raised in Germany.[1], he was exposed to technology and entrepreneurship at a young age. Yi attended Goethe University Frankfurt[2] to study computer science but decided to drop out to pursue business ventures. He has since completed executive education at Stanford Graduate School of Business and the University of Geneva.

Career

Avazu Inc (2009–2016)

In 2009, Yi Shi founded Avazu Inc., a MarTech company specializing in programmatic advertising and private exchange solutions[3]. The company was acquired in 2015 by Dalian Zeus Entertainment Co., Ltd. for CNY 2.2 billion.[4][5]

DotC United Group (2016–2022)

Yi Shi later founded DotC United Group, a consumer internet company active in e-commerce, social platforms, and utility applications. The company expanded its operations in emerging markets.[6]

oBike (2017–2018)

Yi Shi co-founded oBike[7], an independent dockless bike-sharing service aimed at addressing urban mobility challenges. The company achieved rapid growth in Southeast Asia and other regions[8] but eventually faced operational and regulatory challenges[9], leading to its closure.

FlashIntel (2022–Present)

In 2022, Yi Shi founded FlashIntel, a Silicon Valley-based company developing AI solutions for Go-to-Market (GTM) and Customer Experience (CX) optimization.[10][11]

Personal life

Yi Shi resides in Singapore, Japan, and the United States. He has been featured in media outlets such as Forbes and Fortune for his business achievements. [12][13][14]
