An upcoming American animated film is being directed by Domee Shi and produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures.
Shi began developing her next Pixar feature film in October 2022. She stated that her next feature would not be another purgative exploration of mother-teenager tensions within immigrant communities. The film has since been de-prioritized by Pixar due to Shi's commitment to Elio.
