Introduction
[edit]Tenstar Simulation is a Swedish company specializing in advanced simulation technology for various industries. It is the creator of the award-winning Virtual Training Space (VTS), which allows up to five participants to interact in a collaborative virtual environment.
History
[edit]In 2005, a collaborative project involving leading machine operator schools and Maskinentreprenörerna (The Association of Swedish Earth Moving Contractors) led to the development of the first version of Tenstar Simulation’s excavation training tool. This initiative aimed to enhance machine operator education and attract young talent to the construction industry.[1].
Four years later, Tenstar Simulation was founded by Freddy Lund in Tanumshede to build on this vision. The company’s headquarters remain in the Tedacthuset building, formerly home to Extrafilm[2].
Since then, Tenstar has grown, opening additional offices in Falun and Gothenburg. In late 2024, the company achieved a major milestone by opening a new office in Georgia, USA, marking its international expansion.
In 2012, Tenstar Simulation gained significant recognition for its advancements in simulation technology[3].
By 2015, Tenstar Simulation had 12 employees, 2 simulator models, and 9 machine types. A decade later, the company has grown to over 100 employees, offering simulations for nearly 30 vehicles and machines.
Virtual Training Space
The Virtual Training Space (VTS) enables up to five participants to collaborate in real time within a virtual workspace. In 2024, the VTS won the Innovation Award at Intermat, recognizing its impact on training technology[4]
