Stevan Grbović (Serbian Cyrillic: Стеван Грбовић; 1760-1807) was an important leader in Karađorđe's First Serbian Uprising. He is the son of Nikola Grbović who hails from the village Mratišić, near the Principality of Valjevo[1]. Stevan had brothers Milovan and Radovan Grbović, and a nephew Luka, the son of Radovan[2].
After the death of knez and voivode Nikola Grbović, his eldest son, Archpriest Stevan Grbović, became the elder of Kolubara nahiya and in 1806 he led 1,000 soldiers under his command into battle against the Turks, who were waiting for them with cannons ablaze in the Belgrade fortress.[3] There he feel ill from multiple wounds he sustained in the numerous attacks and went home where he died soon after. Stevan's younger brother Milovan Grbović succeeded him[4].
Milovan Grbović fought with valor retaking Belgrade, Užice, Smederevo, Požarevac, Šabac, Loznica, and Sokol.In the last battle at Sokol, he became ill, went home, and died.
In 1808, the youngest of the Grbović brothers, Radovan became voivode[5] .
