Peter Yuen is a former Deputy Chief of the Toronto Police Service. After serving a distinguished 35-year career with the Toronto Police Service, Yuen retired as Deputy Chief and second in command overseeing Community Safety Command in the largest municipal service in Canada.[1]
Deputy Chief Yuen became the highest ranking officer of Chinese heritage within the Toronto Police Services.[2]
Born in Hong Kong and immigrating to Canada in 1975 at the age of 11, Yuen has a Bachelor's degree in Justice Studies and a Master's degree in Leadership from the University of Guelph. Deputy Yuen has been recognized throughout his career, including being awarded Police Officer of the Year, Chief of Police Award of Excellence, Community Law Enforcement Award, Professional Excellence Tribute Award, and Merit Mark.[2] Yuen has received over 20 certifications and awards for outstanding work and commitment to public service.[3]
Political career
[edit]In October 2024, Peter Yuen was officially nominated as the Ontario Liberal candidate for Scarborough-Agincourt.[4]
