Neeraj Pandey (born 9 March 1989) is a Indian novelist, screenwriter and a lyricist who works in Hindi cinema.
He has written lyrics of songs in films like Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi and Kaamyaab . He has written dialogues for Hasmukh and Kacchey Limbu. He has co-written the season 2 of Your Honor.
Neeraj has written a novel "Door Aasmaan Mein" and has also co-produced a film titled Aani Maani.
Early life and education
[edit]Pandey was born in a village called Naya Bhojpur in Buxar district in Bihar, and grew up in Bhabua where his father, a civil servant, was posted. After class 10, he then moved to Delhi and joined a graphic design and animation course. He also completed his Bachelor's Degree from Delhi University.
Career
[edit]He spent seven years in the gaming and animation industry creating artwork for various console games. While working in Bengaluru, he started participating in poetry open mics.
After juggling between his job and his writing, he eventually moved to Mumbai in 2015 to become a full time writer. He was soon hired to write the screenplay and dialogue for the film Sameer.
In 2017, while working with Culture Machine Media, he was approached by Hardik Mehta to write the lyrics for Kaamyaab because Varun Grover couldn't get on board. He also got the chance to write lyrics for Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi.[1]
He then wrote the dialogues for the anthology Tryst With Destiny, and the coming-of-age drama Kacchey Limbu.[2] He wrote the dialogues for the dark comedy series Hasmukh.[3]. He also co-wrote the second season of the series Your Honor.[4] In 2021, he released his first novel "Door Aasmaan Mein".[5]
