Nancy Lyons is an American entrepreneur, author, and keynote speaker. She is the CEO and co-founder of Clockwork, a design and technology consultancy.

Lyons co-founded Clockwork, an experience design and technology consultancy.[1]

Tempo

In 2020, Lyons launched Tempo, a studio backed by Clockwork that creates websites and digital services for small to medium-sized businesses.[2]

Speaking and writing

Lyons has delivered speeches since 2010. Her keynote speeches focus on workplace innovation and the human aspects of business. She presented the keynote address and led a breakout session at the Inspiring Bold Women event hosted by Blaze Credit Union on October 24, 2024.[3] She also spoke at the Women Presidents' Organization Annual Professional Development Day on the topic "Staying Human in the World of A.I." held at Orchestra Hall on October 30, 2024.[4]

She has authored two books:

  • Work Like a Boss: A kick-in-the-pants Guide to Finding (and Using) your Power at Work (2020)[5]
  • Interactive Project Management: Pixels, People, and Process (2012)[6]

  • Panelist at the inaugural White House Summit on Working Families in Washington, DC[12]
  • Featured on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt in a segment titled "Best Place to Work in America"[13]
  • Inducted into the Minnesota Women Business Owners Hall of Fame[14]

Lyons is an advocate for workplace innovation, LGBT rights in the United States, and human rights equality. She has served on several nonprofit boards, including:

  • Chair Emeritus of Family Equality (2010-present)[15]
  • Board Member of Minnesota Women's Economic Roundtable Inc. (2017-present)[16]
  • Board Member of Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation (2020-present)[17]
  • Board of Trustees Member for Minnesota Public Radio (2014–2022)[18]

Lyons also emceed the Women's March in Saint Paul in 2017.[19]
