Muhammad Yahaya Tambura is a Nigerian politician, technocrat and public servant from Zamfara state, Nigeria. He is the director general of Zamfara Information Technology Development Agency’s (ZITDA).[1][2] He was also the senior special assistance to the former governor of Zamfara state, Bello Mohammed on ICT.[3] During the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, he was appointed the publicity secretary of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Asiwaju campaign group of the Zamfara state chapter.[4] He was awarded Best ICT Promoter at the 2022 Pan-African Digital Summit on E-Government in Lagos.[5]

Early life and education
[edit]He hails from Zamfara state, Nigeria where he had most of his early life, including primary and secondary education. By 2019, he had his bachelor's of science on Computer science from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
Career
[edit]After serving as the former governor's senior special assistant on ICT, he became the director general and CEO of Zamfara State Information Technology Development Agency (ZITDA).[6] He was also a member of the National Council on Communications and Digital Economy (NCCDE), National Broadband Implementation Steering Committee (NBISC), and Zamfara State Development Plan Technical Committee.[7][8] He was also the Zamfara State Government-Nigerian Governors' Forum Interface Member for Nigeria Digital Transformation. He was also nominated as the Zamfara State focal person for the National Broadband Plan 2020 to 2025.[9] He was also named the Chief Data Officer Ambassador for Nigeria by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) USA under the MIT Chief Data Officer and Information Quality (CDOIQ) program, demonstrating his global expertise in data management and technology.
He founded the Zamfara ICT Hub and contributed to digital technology where he handles IT consulting works for government and private organizations which includes principal consultant for State Communication and Digital Economy Ministries across the country.
Awards

- In 2020, he was named the Best Performing Council Member for Human Capital Development by the National Council on Communications and Digital Economy (NCDE) in Imo State.
- He also won the 2022 TITANS of Tech Award for outstanding Digital Economy Promoter.[10]
