Mike Haidet (born 1988) is an American political operative and former government staffer. As a key member of President Donald Trump's scheduling team, Haidet emerged as an important player in the many legal inquiries surrounding the former president and his allies.
Early life
[edit]Haidet graduated from Ohio State University in 2009 with a BA in international studies.[1]
Career
[edit]Haidet worked on Rob Portman's Senate campaign in 2010. In 2011, he began working as an assistant in Portman's Senate office.[2] In 2014, Haidet was promoted press secretary for Senator Rob Portman.[3] Haidet worked on Senator Marco Rubio's presidential campaign.[4] In 2016, Haidet returned to the Portman campaign as operations director.[5] He worked on the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee.[4]
At the beginning of the Trump administration, Haidet worked as director of the White House Travel Office, earning an annual salary of $94,00.[6] He was later named Deputy Assistant to the President for Presidential Scheduling.[7] Haidet was a scheduler for President Trump in 2020 when the President was diagnosed with COVID-19 and continued to engage in in-person events.[8]
Because of his roles at the White House, Haidet has been named as a critical player or witness in several legal proceedings involving President Trump or the President's allies.[9][10][11][12] Haidet has not personally been accused of wrongdoing.
