Md. Rokonuzzaman (born 18 December 1990) is a Bangladeshi lawyer, human rights activist, influencer, content creator and founder of Bangladesh Ainjibi Samity.[1] [2][3]Rokonuzzaman got huge popularity for empowering the backward people with legal awareness through social media platforms.[4]
Early life and education
[edit]Rokonuzzaman passed his SSC in 2006 from Shaylahat High School, Monirampur, Jashore and passed his HSC in 2008 from Keshabpur College. Thereafter he completed LL.B (Hon's) and LL.M from the University of Dhaka.[5]
Career
[edit]He passed Bangladesh Bar Council Exams in 2018 and started his legal career in Dhaka Judge Court under Dhaka Bar Association and from thereafter his career shifted to High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh in 2022. His tremendous efforts allowed him to practice in the High Court Division as a reputed lawyer.[6]
As a human rights activist Rokonuzzaman filed a writ petition with the High Court Division challenging the legality of the provision in keeping 40% quota for the children and ward of existing employees in appointing public servants in Bangladesh Railway. The High Court bench comprising Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice SM Masud Hossain Dolan issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain as to why it shall not declare contradictory with the constitution a provision of 40% dependent quota in the Bangladesh Railway jobs from 14th grade to 20th grade.[7][8][9][10][11]
As an influencer Rokonuzzaman regularly write and create content on different legal topics and publish it to social media platforms and therefore spreading legal awareness among the people of Bangladesh.[12][13][14]
