Marina Luz Fandiño Rodríguez (born 23 November 1931 Santiago de Compostela - 28 April 2024) a Galician writer , poet and activist .
Life
[edit]In 1952 she emigrated to Argentina. In 1964, she went to live in France . In 1979, she returned permanently to Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia , where he lived until her death.
She has collaborated with various Galician publications, the Diario Cultural programme on Radio Galega and with the cultural groups Redes Escarlata, Mulheres Trasgredindo and Mar de Tinta.
During the last years of her life, she remained active, writing daily and attending social centers, schools and institutes to give talks about his experience in emigration, her poems and her vision of life. [1]
In 2020 , director Sonia Méndez released the documentary film poeta analfabeta , based on her life, her work, in Galician and her political activism.
Her figure inspired the creation of Luz Poética, the New Poetry Festival of Compostela, whose first edition was held in 2022.[2]
She passed away on 26 April 2024, announced on social media by the mayor of Santiago de Compostela, Goretti Sanmartín . And a tribute to Luz Fandiño was announced for 5 May in the auditorium of the Museo de Pobo Galego.
