- Comment: None of the links seem to provide independent significant coverage of this company. Most of the links seem to be about Voith, the company that used to own this one. While it is fine to have this as background, the article also needs significant coverage of Leadec as an independent company to demonstrate its notability for a Wikipedia article. - Comment: Note that this article is a translation of the German-language version de:Leadec Mgp28 (talk) 11:26, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: This may well be notable, but the sources are insufficient to establish that. DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:21, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

History
[edit]Origin of the company
[edit]Leadec has its origins in 1962 with the founding of the boiler cleaning company Reichenberger & Co. for the cleaning of heating and water boilers. In the 1960s, a new service was created: external maintenance of machines and systems. The company was renamed Deutsche Industriewartung GmbH, Reichenberger & Co. and from 1985 operated under the name Deutsche Industriewartung GmbH & Co. KG (DIW).[3] In 1986, Salamander and Voith acquired DIW.[4]
In October 2000 the Group Division Voith Industrial Services was founded.[5] In 2000, Voith Industrial Service acquired a stake in Hörmann Industrietechnik. In 2004, Voith Servicos Industriais do Brasil Ltda. was founded.[6] In 2005, the company acquired Premier Manufacturing Support Services, Inc. to strengthen its international position as a partner to the automotive industry.[7][8] This was followed in 2006 by the acquisition of a majority stake in Hörmann Industrietechnik for complex technical industrial services with a focus on the automotive industry.[9]
In August 2014 Helix Systems Inc. with 260 employees and 30 million dollars in sales became part of Voith Industrial Services.[10][11] In September 2014, Voith Industrial Services sold its subsidiary DIW.[12]
In fall 2016 Voith sold its industrial services division to the private equity firm Triton.[13][14] The latter divided the company into two service companies, Leadec and Veltec.[15] Since then, Leadec has been one of Triton's portfolio companies. Under the new owner, Leadec is an independent service company that is fully geared towards the requirements of the service sector and can operate on a customer-specific basis. Veltec was sold to Plant Systems & Services PSS GmbH in November 2018 and focuses on the process industry.[16]
New name
[edit]The new Leadec brand was announced on January 23, 2017.[17] The company name is intended to emphasize the company's independence: Leadec is made up of the English words "lead" (lead, leadership) and "tec" (technology).[18]
