LUZ (Chinese: 花明渡; Chinese Cantonese: Fa Ming Dou; Chinese Mandarin: Hua Ming Du) is a 2025 Chinese-produced international contemporary drama film[1], written and directed by Hong Kong born Chinese director Flora Lau. [2] Starring Isabelle Huppert, Sandrine Pinna, Guo Xiao Dong, Huang Lu, David Chiang and Deng Enxi.

LUZ will have its world premiere in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at 2025 Sundance Film Festival.[2][3]

The original screenplay was developed by Flora Lau during her residency at La Cinéfondation of Festival de Cannes.[4]

Filming

Filming took place in Chongqing and Hong Kong, China, and Paris, France. Post-production was completed in Paris and Hong Kong.[5]

Music

The original score was composed by French-Chinese musician Mimi Xu.
