He first attracted accolades for his low-budget short films, including Parasocial (2022) and The Big Pelvis (2023). Jeavons produced his first feature film, Blood in the Snow (2025), at nineteen.[1]

Early life

[edit]

Joseph Jeavons was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, on March 21, 2005. He spent his early years developing a passion for storytelling, which later translated into a career in the film industry. Jeavons attended high school at Woodrow Wilson High School and is currently a student at the University of Texas at Austin, class of 2027.[1]

Career

[edit]

Jeavons made his directorial debut with the award-winning short film Parasocial in 2022. In addition to directing, he starred as the protagonist, showcasing his versatility as both a filmmaker and an actor.[2] The film earned critical acclaim and awards at various film festivals, motivating Jeavons to start on his next project.[3][4]

In 2023, Jeavons began working on his second comedy short film, The Big Pelvis, with Owen Swift,[5][3][6] which would eventually win a finalist award at the 2023 Student World Impact Film Festival and the Best Student Film at the 2023 Houston Comedy Film Festival.[1][7]

In October of 2023, Jeavons announced the beginning of his team's fundraising campaign for their debut feature film, Blood in the Snow. Using Indiegogo to raise a $10,000 budget for the film, Jeavons and his team filmed and completed the project in Dallas, Texas.[1][7]
