Joseph E. O'Connor

Joseph E. O'Connor is an American trial lawyer with over two decades of experience, specializing in representing clients who have suffered serious and catastrophic injuries.[1][2] He is currently the managing partner of his law firm and is a prominent legal figure in the Hudson Valley, New York.

Early Life and Education

Joseph E. O'Connor was born and raised in the Hudson Valley, New York. He graduated from Brown University in 1993, where he played Division I football and golf for the Brown Bears. He earned his Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law in 1997, graduating with honors and making the Dean's List.

O'Connor began his legal career as a law clerk with the National Football League from 1995 to 1997. He subsequently joined Curran, Gruner & O'Connor as an attorney in 1997. After founding his own practice, the Law Office of Joseph E. O'Connor, he co-founded the firm Mainetti, Mainetti & O'Connor, P.C., where he practiced law until 2018. Joe O'Connor regularly obtains seven and eight figure recoveries for his clients,[3] was recently named co-counsel in Peni vs Daily Harvest[4] foodborne illness litigation venued in Southern DIstrict of New York.

As the managing partner of his current firm, O'Connor focuses on personal injury law, representing clients harmed by construction accidents, motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents, defective products, food borne illnesses[5] and other forms of negligence. His cases have been featured on prominent television programs, including The Today Show, as well as in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and the New York Law Journal.

O'Connor is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of New York. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in New Jersey, Utah, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Business Ventures

In addition to his legal career, O'Connor has been involved in business ventures. He is the former owner of Ole Savannah[14] and a current owner of the Wiltwyck Golf Club.[15]

Community Involvement

O'Connor is deeply committed to community service. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Bardavon Theater and the Ulster Performing Arts Center. He has also been a volunteer with Make-a-Wish of the Hudson Valley. O'Connor is a regular contributor to People's Place and the Boys & Girls Club Kingston.

Personal Life

A lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, O'Connor uses his deep community ties to advocate for his clients effectively. He resides in the region with his family.
