Dr. José Yovín Vargas Llavona (born 1985) is a Puerto Rican doctor.
Vargas is married to the governor of Puerto Rico, Jenniffer González Colón. Yovín, as it is publicly known, got married to González on August 2022, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From that union, they bring to the world, the twins, José Yovín Jorge y Jenniffer Nydia Mercedes, on February 16, 2024. Yovín is a reserved person which has maintained his life in private, but publicly focus all his efforts to his career and his wife campaign for governor for the past years.
Early life and education
[edit]Dr. José Yovín Vargas Llavona is part of a family where the name Yovín is share by his father and his 3 brother, either as name or second name. He was born and raised in La Parguera, Lajas. Before he was married, Yovín lived with his parents in the keys of the area[1], near Isla Mata La Gata. Yovín has a net worth of $1.5 millions US Dollars and his height is around 5 feet 7 inches. There is not a lot to mention about José Yovín Vargas Llavona, besides him becoming "El Bartender de la Leche" after his two children born.
Yovín graduated from Universidad Central del Este (UCE)[2], with a public health medical degrees and in 2024 became a license Physician Assistant (PA).
Political activity
[edit]He has been involved on the political scene in Puerto Rico; José Yovín got married to the first woman to hold the role of Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, chairwoman of the Puerto Rico Republican Party, president of the New Progressive Party (PNP) and the second woman governor of the island (first from the PNP). As the husband of the governor of the island, Yovín will become the First Gentleman of Puerto Rico, be he won't be the first man to hold the position of First Gentleman at "La Fortaleza". Before José Yovín Vargas, Adolfo Krans (ex-husband to Sila Maria Calderón), Ramón Cantero Frau (also ex-husband to Sila Maria Calderón), Jorge Díaz Reverón (husband to Wanda Vázquez Garced) were the First Gentleman of Puerto Rico, but none developed the "Oficina de el Primer Caballero" on their time at "La Fortaleza". The position is always address as "Oficina de la Primera Dama" since is more common that the island elects a man to be the governor of the island.
