Jofre Oliveras (Girona, 1989).[1] is a Catalan artist and muralist.[2] His artworks incorporate the landscape as part of the piece and create a dialogue with the public through a political language that questions social conventions.[3][4]
In 2019, Oliveras, together with Nil Safont, painted the largest rural art mural in Catalonia, covering a total surface area of 1,358 square meters distributed across three large silos at the feed manufacturing plant in Torregrossa. The mural features an allegorical representation of the Festes del Segar i del Batre (Harvest and Threshing Festivals) of La Fuliola[5]
International Art Engagements
[edit]Jofre Oliveras has participated in and organised art events worldwide. He has contributed to renowned events such as the Nuart Festival in Stavanger, Norway, and Aberdeen, Scotland,[6] where his murals addressed themes like the refugee crisis or the art establishment collaborating with 1UP graffiti crew.
In the Middle East, Oliveras created the Underline Project to promoting social movements across Jordan, Lebanon and Spain. He contributed to Primavera Sound[7] where he created an artwork to raise funds for Palestinian families in Gaza. His international exhibitions include XXL Gallery in Mumbai, India, and Void Projects in Miami, USA, as part of a collaborative exploration of contemporary urban art.
Additionally, Oliveras is an integral member of Konvent, a cultural and artistic residency in Spain, where he continues to foster community engagement and innovation in public art.[8]
