Jeevan Padmakumar[1] (born 3 May 1988) is an Indian playback singer and performer who sings mainly in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu languages.[2] He also sang numerous album songs, singles, devotional songs in all south Indian languages.
Personal Life
[edit]Jeevan Padmakumar was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala to Mr. N. Padmakumar and Geetha Padmakumar. He was introduced to the world of music by his father and encouraged him to pursue music. He did his graduation in Biotechnology from University of Kerala and secured his Master's degree in Healthcare Services Management from Sikkim Manipal University. He resides at Thiruvananthapuram with his family.
Musical Career
[edit]Jeevan Padmakumar's grooming as a singer started at the age of 12. He represented his school in district and state youth festivals and won laurels. He is well known for his performances in music reality shows like Idea Star Singer in Asianet, Superstar The Ultimate in Amrita TV, Indian Voice Season 2[3] in Mazhavil Manorama, etc.
His musical life took a turn after being one of the contestants of India's most popular reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Seniors (season 3) in Zee Tamil (2023). His performance of the song "Rasaathi En Usuru" by A. R. Rahman has become one of the most popular peformances in the history of reality shows and he was recognized globally. His performance put the season on the map. Eventually he became one of the finalists[4] and won hearts all over the world. In the same year he also won the social media face of the year award by Zee T.V[5]
Earlier he got introduced to the music industry by music director Sharreth through the national award-winning Telugu movie Naa Bangaaru Talli directed by Rajesh Touchriver. The well received movie and song helped him to associate with the renowned music directors of Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi music industries.[6]
His love for stage performances earned him a reputation for being a very strong live stage performer. He shared so many stages with extremely popular and celebrated artists from Indian movie industry. He is the founder of the Sufi Rock band Kaun-Fused[7][8] and one of the founders of the band Yaadon Ki Baaraat (YKB The Band) with which he travelled across the globe for performing[9][10]
His Latest release is from the movie Mahaveeryar, which he sang along with the veteran Vidyadharan Master[11][12]
