Hussein Habasch (born 1970 in Şiyê, Afrin, Kurdistan) is a Kurdish poet currently residing in Bonn, Germany.
Life and Work Hussein Habasch was born in the town of Şiyê in Afrin in 1970. His poetry has been translated into numerous languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Persian, Uzbek, Albanian, Russian, Romanian, Italian, Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Polish, Slovenian, Lithuanian, Vietnamese, Nepali, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tajik, Bengali, Turkish, Berber (Amazigh), Bosnian, Portuguese, Hungarian, Chinese, Greek, Mandarin (the language of Taiwan), and Tzotzil (the language of the Mayan peoples of Mexico). His work has been published in over 150 international poetry anthologies.
