Hiroshi Suzuki ( born June 5th, 1961) is a Japanese diplomat who is currently serving as ambassador to the United kingdom. Suzuki was born in Kyoto and grew up in Uji city. He graduated with a B.A. in Law from the University of Tokyo in 1985 and later earned an M.A. from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, Massachusetts, in 1988.[1]

In April 1985 he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, starting his career as a diplomat.

In September 2022 he became the ambassador to India and Bhutan , During this period, he was noted for actively engaging with the local community, particularly through social media where he shared his experiences with Indian culture and cuisine. His tenure was marked by

his efforts to strengthen relations of the two countries with Japan.

In late 2024 he ended his tenure as ambassador to India[2], and was appointed ambassador to the United kingdom , arriving in August 2024. In December 2024 he congratulated the United kingdom when it joined the CPTPP, hoping for better trade deals between the UK and japan.

Personal life

Suzuki is married to Eiko Suzuki, and they have a daughter. In his spare time he enjoys sports such as tennis skiing and golf.
