Entrails is a Swedish death metal band, formed in 1990. The band was disbanded in 1994, unsatisfied with its material, and was reformed in 2008 by guitarist, Jimmy Lundqvist.[1] They are based in Linneryd, Kronoberg.[2]
History
[edit]Entrails was created by Jimmy Lundqvist, Mathias "Matte" Nilsson and other Swedish musicians in late 1990.[3] They were inspired by other Swedish bands, such as Entombed, Dismember and Grave.[1] Half of the band left in 1994 when it was disbanded, though Lundqvist continued to write songs until 1998.[1]
In 2008, Lundqvist reformed the band.[1] The band released their first demos, Reborn and Human Decay, the following year in 2009, with Lundqvist on guitar, bass and drum programming and Joakim "Jocke" Svensson on vocals.[4]
In 2010, the band released their first full length album, Tales from the Morgue. This line-up featured Lunqvist on guitar and Svensson on bass and vocals, as well as Nilsson on guitar and Fredrik Widigs on drums.
In 2011, the band released their second album, The Tomb Awaits, featuring the same line-up, but with Adde Mitroulis on drums. Lundqvist did additional drum programming.
In 2012, the band signed to Metal Blade Records.[1] They released a split with Ominous Crucifix.[5]
In 2013, the band released their third album, Raging Death, featuring the same line-up as before, with several guest vocalists.
In 2014, the band released the Resurrected from the Grave demo collection.[6] They released a split with Graveyard that same year.
In 2015, Lundqvist worked on his "Bloodshed Studio", adding more space for drums.[1] The same year, the band released their forth album, Obliteration, featuring Pontus "Penki" Samuelsson on guitar rather than Nilsson.
In 2017, the band released their fifth album, World Inferno. The line-up featured Lundqvist and Samuelsson on guitars, Tommy Carlsson on bass and vocals and Martin "Fjalar" Mikaelsson on drums.
In 2019, Entrails released their sixth album, Rise of the Reaper.[7] This line-up featured Lundqvist and Markus Sevensson on guitars, with Samuelsson on vocals and bass and Arvid Borg on drums.[8]
In 2021, Hammerheart Records announced that they were signing Entrails for their next album.[9] The following year, in 2022, Entrails released their seventh album, An Eternal Time of Decay, featuring the same line-up as before.[10] In 2022, they also changed their line-up so that Daniel Klinteberg was on vocals and Benjamin Hjort Andersson was on bass.[3]
