Cyril Chikwelu Odenigbo is a media enthusiast, instructor, filmmaker, brand consultant, and strategist. The Founder and CEO of Magnus Film Academy and Magnus Media Nigeria Limited.
He studied Economics at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State. Having been in the Nigerian Film Industry (Nollywood) since 2001, he was elected Chairman of the Association of Movie Practitioners (AMP) Nnewi Chapter in 2004. His regime turned the region into an entertainment hub bringing in investors, celebrities, and film marketers at that time into the film and media business in collaboration with the AMP national body under Mr Ifeanyi Azodo as the National President and the likes of Amaco Investment, Filmark Movies and Annex Merchandise productions.
In 2010, the Catholic Diocese of Awka, Anambra State, appointed him as the Head Coordinator giving to his early experience in media and entertainment to harvest, harness, and empower talented youth under the Catholic Artiste and the Entertainers Association of Nigeria (CAEN) that had over 2000 youth beneficiaries which turned out a land breaking achievement for the Catholic Diocese of Awka, Anambra State Nigeria.
Shortly, he established his first business in 2011, Mega Vision Enterprise which he later changed to Magnus Media & Entertainment on April 13, 2011, as registered on the Corporate Affairs Commission. His expertise in media and branding landed him a contract by His Excellency Governor Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State under the Ministry of Environment, Anambra State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) to design and brand the agency’s truck, payloaders, and other equipment.
With an unquenchable passion for his craft and the growth of his company, he commenced full-time operation in 2016 as a limited liability company registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission as Magnus Media Inv. LTD. He has used his platform to give scholarships, granted free training for some youth on filmmaking and multimedia business in Lagos and Enugu South East of Nigeria.
In 2016, he was awarded for completing the Strategies for Personal Growth and Development with the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI)
He is proud to have deployed his creative ingenuity and mastery of digital craft in rendering training and services to both International and national brands, government agencies, non-governmental, institutions, and companies the likes Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Wesleyan University USA, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Kaitoma Creatives, Mix Films Production Sweden, and other Top Nigeria Brands such as Emenite Limited, LEAP Africa, ASTOL Group, South Sahara Social Development Organization, Seaman Aromatic SHENNAPS, Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation.
In 2021, he scripted, directed, and Co-financed a feature film, ‘BREAK THE BLADE’, the voice speaking on the unrevealed deeper story of female genital mutilation. Before this movie, he produced other Nigerian movies like Irresistible Urge, Dig Deep, Coming to Nigeria, and more.
He is married to Chidimma Chikwelu and they have three children together; Somtochukwu, Angelic, and Wealth Chikwelu
He has received several awards for his craft, establishment, and service to humanity as follows-
Awarded the Best Film Academy in the South East of Nigeria 2019. Award of recognition for his numerous contributions to empowering the youth by Wealbling City Awards Currently, the Made in Nigeria Awards 2022 awarded him the Most Outstanding in Film & TV Production organized by Business Executive Nigeria. Also received another prestigious award from the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Enugu Chapter and the Association of Movie Producers Enugu Chapter (AMP) for his film academy, as the Best Film Academy in the South East of Nigeria 2022.
In 2022, he created a Tech company called IDOFF Technologies which he created to help businesses and individuals share their products or services With a Scan or Tap of IDOFF smart products on a smartphone, to seamlessly exchange contacts/sales, Create events for E-invitation, Ticketing, Guest auto reminder & explore places
