Thermal baths

[edit]

The spontaneous thermal baths are rich in numerous mineral salts, like iron, which make the waters recommended as dietary supplements. [citation needed].

There are four natural springs, characterized from different concentrations of minerals, called Antica Fonte, Igea, Fausta and Silia (now called Boario), all located in the vast Parco delle Terme.

Padiglione dell'Antica Fonte, a semi-circular open gallery which ends with Cupola Marazzi, named after architect Americo Marazzi, was built in 1913 and it is an example of Liberty architecture.

The exploitation of the mineral water springs, known as Terme di Boario, started halfway through the 19th century. Until then, the area where the termal center is located today, was known as Casì or Codì de Boér.
