Bloomburrow is the 101st expansion set for Magic: The Gathering and will be released on August 2, 2024.[1]
Setting
[edit]Gameplay
[edit]Bloomburrow introduces multiple new mechanics:[2]
- When casting a creature spell with Offspring X, the player can optionally pay X mana to create a token that's a copy of the creature, except that the copy has power and toughness 1/1.
- Gift X is a cost that a player may be asked to pay in various contexts. Gift a card, for example, means that the opponent gets to draw a card.
- Forage is another additional cost, that consists of exiling three cards from the graveyard or sacrificing a food token.
- Valiant abilities are triggered when the creature gets targeted by a spell or an ability, the creature's owner controls, but only once each turn.
- Expend is a new rules term. Expending X means spending X mana to cast spells during a turn.
