Bhav Singh (born December 20, 1972) is a British/Indian tech media entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Sandbox Group, a digital learning company with properties across the US, UK, Europe, and Brazil, including CoolMathGames, Leiturinha, Hopster, and Playkids, which reach over 50 million users each month. Singh has scaled businesses internationally in media, entertainment, sports, and education at companies like Paramount Global (formerly ViacomCBS) and Pearson PLC.[1]
Early Life
[edit]Singh was born in Chandigarh, India. As the son of an Air Force officer, Singh traveled extensively across India, attending seven different schools. This early exposure fostered his appreciation for diversity and adaptability.[2]
In his late 20s, Singh moved to the UK, where he pursued studies in hotel management and later an MBA at Manchester Business School. During this period, he also led video streaming projects for Manchester United.[3]
Singh has held managerial positions at Endeavor (previously IMG) and Discovery Communications.[4]— a turning point in his understanding of products for media companies that were ahead of their time. Upon graduation from Manchester Business School, in 2004, Paramount Global (previously Viacom CBS)[2] came calling.
Personal life
[edit]Singh resides in London with his two sons, Aryan and Arjun. He is an avid cricket, history, and Pink Floyd fan.[4]
Career
[edit]Singh joined Paramount Global (formerly ViacomCBS) in 2004 as Managing Director and EVP for Emerging Markets. Over nearly a decade, Singh expanded brands like MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central across India, Central Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and Africa.[5] He was instrumental in launching HD networks and increasing market share.[6]
In 2012, Singh became President & CEO of Pearson English, where he transitioned the division from traditional publishing to a direct-to-consumer SaaS model. This shift included growth across China, Brazil, India, Germany, Indonesia, and the US through acquisitions and organic expansion.[7]
In 2015, Singh founded Sandbox Group, which has since acquired 18 learning and play brands, becoming a leading force in digital education. The company employs over 350 people and operates in multiple regions.[1]
