- Comment: "Comparison with other translations" describes how its creators compare it (clearly not an independent source), and how "others" compare it. "Others" turn out to be two web pages. The Berean Standard Bible (BSB) is a translation of the Bible in contemporary English, in the public domain. The BSB was published in 2020 and produced by Bible Hub, Discovery Bible, OpenBible.com, and the Berean Bible Translation Committee.[1]
The name "Berean" comes from Acts 17:11: “Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true.”[2]
Translation Tiers
[edit]Instead of only a single translation, the BSB is a part of a multi-tier translation system: an interlinear translation, a literal translation, a study translation (the BSB), and emphasized Bible.[3]
Public Domain
[edit]On April 2023, Berean dedicated the entire text to the public domain.[4]
