The Ashgabat Shopping and Entertainment Center or simply Ashgabat Mall[2]is a shopping mall located in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat. [3]Opened in 2021, it is one of the largest of its kind in the Central Asian region and serves as a focal point for both shopping and entertainment in the city. [4] It opened in 26 September 2021 and is located on Tehran Street.[5]
History
[edit]Opened to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, the center was constructed by the local enterprise Beýik Bina. It has been widely praised for its innovative design and use of advanced technologies, earning certificates for excellence from organizations in Germany, the UK, and Austria for its architecture and environmental sustainability.[6]
Overview
[edit]The center is located in a key urban area at Teheran Street, surrounded by residential complexes and accessible from central parts of Ashgabat. The complex is surrounded by landscaped areas, including gardens and walking paths. The site covers an area of approximately 8 hectares. It features energy-efficient systems, including LED lighting.
The center spans 65,000 square meters, offering over 240 retail outlets, which include a mix of international and local brands. The interiors of the Ashgabat Shopping and Entertainment Center are designed in a neoclassical style, complemented with eastern decorative elements.
The Ashgabat Shopping and Entertainment Center consists of 3 floors. The first floor features primarily brand-name clothing stores, products from the Turkmen textile industry, furniture from local manufacturers, as well as national Turkmen crafts. Additionally, there are wedding salons
The center has a range of dining facilities, including cafes, restaurants, and fast food outlets spread across several floors.
Facilities for entertainment include a cinema, an ice skating rink, and modern digital features such as musical fountains. A wellness center with a gym and spa is also part of the complex.
The complex includes an underground parking area and an adjacent automobile service center with a car wash.
Residential Area
