Apocalypse is a strategy video game developed and published by Ere Informatique in 1988 for the Amstrad CPC home computer.
Plot
[edit]In Apocalypse, the player takes on the role of a military commander during a global crisis. The main objective is to destroy all missile launch silos of the Soviet bloc before they destroy their own.
Gameplay
[edit]The game is designed for single-player mode and combines strategic elements with careful resource and time management. The player must locate and neutralize enemy silos using their forces while balancing offense with the defense of their own silos.
Development and technical features
[edit]Apocalypse was programmed by G. Saviard and features graphics in the Amstrad CPC's mode 1, which, through the use of raster effects, surpasses the standard limit of four colors per screen. The game also includes digitized voice samples, an advanced feature for its time.
