- Comment: Hydrogen Central doesn't seem to be a reliable source. It is obscure, and it doesn't say who writes or edits the articles there.Sources affiliated with Masdar or the event are not independent sources. Non-independent sources should be only used for uncontroversial facts like dates. Most of the sources doesn;t really talk about the event, just one or two inventions that was showcased in event. Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) is an annual global event of Masdar held in United Arab Emirates and under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan focused on sustainable development and the advancement of economic, social, and environmental progress.[1][2][3]
History
[edit]ADSW was established by Masdar in 2008. Delegates at the annual international conference set the global climate agenda and look to operationalize outcomes from the Global Stocktake of the Paris Agreement.[1]
The event is considered the largest sustainability gathering in the Middle East[2] and works to advance environmental research, technology, industry, and policy developments.[4]
Features
[edit]The World Future Energy Summit (WFES) is an annual event hosted part of ADSW aiming to advance future energy, energy efficiency, and clean technologies.[5]
In 2008, ADSW introduced the Zayed Future Energy Prize, renamed the Zayed Sustainability Prize, awarding $4 million annually to global leaders in renewable energy and sustainability.[6][7][8]
At the 2015 ADSW event, Solar Impulse 2 was displayed ahead of its global flight.[9][10] 2015 was also the first year of the Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (WiSER) Annual Forum.[11][12]
In January 2023, ADSW held its first Green Hydrogen Summit.[13] Also at the 2023 conference, ADNOC announced a partnership to pilot Carbon Capture and Mineralisation (CCM) technology.[14]
