555 Hong-Kong Beijing Rally 1996 was the third round of the 1996 FIA World Cup for Rally Drivers, held from 25 to 28 April, covering both urban and off-road sections.

Overview

The 1996 Hong Kong-Beijing Rally was held in September, covering 2,500 kilometers from Hong Kong to Beijing. It attracted 98 entries, including professional drivers and privateers. The rally featured a mix of urban, rural, and mountain roads.[1]

Ari Vatanen won the event, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Of the 98 starters, 57 cars finished the race, with several retiring due to mechanical issues or accidents. The rally was part of the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship.[2]
