Áurio Clinton Neto Teixeira (born 29 September 2002) is a semi-professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for National League North club Hereford.

Early life

[edit]

Teixeira was born in Birmingham, England and is of Portuguese and Angolan descent.[1]

Career

[edit]

Teixeira joined the West Bromwich Albion academy aged 11 where he remained until he was released in 2022.[2][3] He was part of the under-23 squad that won the 2021–22 Premier League Cup and reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 2021.[4] Upon his release from West Bromwich Albion, he signed for Southern League Premier Division Central club Alvechurch in September 2022. He featured for Alvechurch in their run to the FA Cup second round, knocking out then-EFL League One club Cheltenham Town along the way.[5]

In May 2023, he stepped up a level to join National League North club Hereford on a two-year deal.[6] He scored his first goal for the club, a 35-yard strike, in a 2–1 away win against Chester.[7] This goal would later be voted goal of the month for September and goal of the season.[8][9]
