Amateur career

[edit]

Introduced to boxing by his father at the age of 6 Lapin had a decorated amateur career with 290 bouts and winning the European championships. After turning professional, he became the inaugural signing of boxer Oleksandr Usyk's Uysk 17 promotion.[2]

[edit]

Thanks to his associaton with the cruiserweight and heavyweight king Uysk, Lapin has appeared on some of the biggest boxing cards in history. On the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk he easily outboxed fellow Ukrainian Pawel Martyniuk in the opening fight on the card[3] He also featured on the rematch card Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua II at the Jeddah Superdome. Once again he convincingly won on points vs Slovakian Jozef Jurko.[4] On the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois in his hometown Wroclaw, Lapin stopped German Aro Schwarz in the sixth round to capture the vacant IBO Continental light heavyweight title.[5] Lapin took part on the historic undisputed fight Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. He knocked out Octavio Pudivitr in the first round.[6]
