Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Vinay Shankar Tiwari, won in last Assembly election of 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Elections by defeating Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Rajesh Tripathi by a margin of 3,359 votes.[4][5]
