The Central District of Quchan County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان قوچان) is in Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Quchan.[3]

History

After the 2016 National Census, the village of Mezerj was elevated to the status of a city.[4]

In 2019, Dughayi Rural District was separated from the district in the formation of Abkuh District,[5] Quchan Atiq Rural District was separated to form Quchan Atiq District.[6]

At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 169,575 in 42,844 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 171,421 people in 48,588 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 166,868 inhabitants in 50,260 households.[2]
