Subcat needed

[edit]

Does this need a subcat for people similar to Category:American Saddlebred breeders and trainers? It might resolve an editing dispute or two. ϢereSpielChequers 17:35, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think so—putting people into categories for horse breeds foes not make sense.  Anchorvale T@lk  02:45, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As a subcat of this one, probably. Whatever works. We cross-diffuse to the horse breeders and studs category for all breeds too... so long as it all makes sense. Montanabw(talk) 03:44, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Are you planning to create the new cat, Ϣere? Simon MacCorkindale doesn't mind where he goes, as he is deceased, but someone objected to my putting his partner Susan George (actress) (alive) in this current cat. Too tedious. Carbon Caryatid (talk) 22:27, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK now at Category:Arabian_breeders_and_trainers ϢereSpielChequers 09:34, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Another subcat?

[edit]

Only now have I looked at Category:Tennessee Walking Horses and Category:American Quarter Horses, for instance. They (and some other breeds) have multiple subcats to list the named horses, e.g. Category:Individual American Saddlebreds or the even more specific American Quarter Horses race horse/ show horse/ stallion/ mare subcats. This leaves the named-breed category to be populated with articles other than named horses and people: organis/zations, farms/studs, shows, races, etc. Those then become more visible, in my opinion. Any objections to my creating Category:Individual Arabian and part-Arabian horses? Carbon Caryatid (talk) 11:17, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New Year's resolution - I re-proposed this on the Equine Project talkpage. A day later: one yes, no no. So I've done it. --Carbon Caryatid (talk) 00:03, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
