Robert Montgomery?

[edit]

Could Robert Montgomery (actor) be classified as a politician? His name figures on List of actor-politicians but not much in the article suggests that he is a politician. Any pointers? --Gurubrahma 13:59, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stricter criteria for inclusion

[edit]

The criteria for inclusion should be tightened. At least in the US, it's not uncommon for actors to make political statements, or lend financial or celebrity support to candidates or issues. I'm concerned that including actors-with-an-interest-in-politics like Ben Affleck, George Clooney, or Warren Beatty will drown out what I'd consider real actor-politicians, e.g. elected officials like Ronald Reagan or Jesse Ventura, or those very actively involved with public policy issues like Rob Reiner or Charlton Heston. Feedback, suggestions? Thanks. -- Anirvan 16:55, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, which is precisely the reason ideologues are not included. Heston and Reiner are not included for public policy issues but for contesting and campaigning. --Gurubrahma 16:57, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
