Kevin O'Reilly (born November 10, 1993)[citation needed],[2] better known online as Call Me Kevin, is an Irish YouTuber and Twitch streamer known for his comedic commentary and roleplay videos across various video games.[3]
Early life and career
[edit]Kevin O'Reilly was born in Ireland and resided in Cork.[citation needed][4] He began his YouTube career in 2009, focusing on gaming content. In 2016, he temporarily ceased creating videos after being involved in a vehicle accident. Upon his return, he rebranded his channel as "Call Me Kevin," gaining popularity for his humorous gameplay and roleplay videos.[5]
Content and collaborations
[edit]Call Me Kevin produces content featuring games such as Grand Theft Auto, Minecraft, The Sims, Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Fallout. His unique commentary style has attracted a substantial following, with his channel amassing over 3.5 million subscribers. He has collaborated with fellow YouTubers, including Jacksepticeye, RTGame, and Terroriser.[6][7]
The longest-running series on the channel is his gameplay videos of The Sims 4. The series consists of the titular character, Jim Pickens, who is depicted as a psychotic cult leader.[8] Another character in the series is Turg, who also originates from a Mario Kart 8 video.[9]
His gameplay videos often include unique challenges and creative approaches to games. For example, he has recreated real-world events, including the COVID-19 pandemic, in The Sims 4. These videos provide both humor and reflection, resonating with his audience.[10][11]
Charity work
[edit]In May 2021, Call Me Kevin hosted a charity livestream on Twitch, utilizing the platform's "hot tub meta" to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. During the three-hour stream, he and his community raised over $43,000, significantly surpassing the initial goal of $10,000.[12][13]
Personal life
[edit]Kevin O'Reilly is in a relationship with chess player Anna Rudolf since 2019.[14] The two were introduced earlier that year by Irish-Canadian YouTuber Daniel Condren, better known as RTGame.[15]
O'Reilly has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as confirmed in a video titled "they finally figured out what's wrong with me"[16]
In early 2020, Anna moved to Kevin's home city of Cork, where the couple began living together. In July 2021, Kevin and Anna relocated to Spain, where Anna already held permanent residency from her prior time living there.[17][4]
Anna later shared that she had never “officially” left Spain and was visiting Kevin in Ireland when the COVID-19 lockdowns prevented her from returning.[18]
