Baojun Yep Plus - electric crossover city class produced under the Chinese brand Baojun since 2024.

History and description of the model

[edit]

In January 2024, a larger variation of the small, 3-door crossover Baojun Yep was presented. Despite similar stylistic features such as a boxy body or angular headlights with a double-line motif, the Yep Plus received a new exterior design. In addition to the additional pair of doors, which resulted in an extended wheelbase, the car also became significantly higher and wider[1].

The small crossover has gained new proportions[2], with less accentuated wheel arches, a differently drawn hood line and a remodeled window line. The characteristic display on the boot lid was also omitted. The roof was decorated with rails, while behind the C-pillar there was an overlay in a contrasting color[3].

Sales

[edit]

The Baojun Yep Plus was created exclusively for the domestic Chinese market, where its sales began 3 months after its debut - in April 2024. The car went on sale in two equipment variants, with 93,800 yuan for the cheapest version[4].

Technical data

[edit]

Compared to the related Yep, the Baojun Yep Plus gained a significantly more powerful drive system. The car was powered by a 100-horsepower electric engine with a maximum torque of 180 Nm and a speed limited to 150 km/h. The 41.9 kWh battery allowed for a maximum range in CLTC mode of approx. 401 kilometers on a single charge[5].
