Aleksandra Fontaine

Aleksandra Fontaine (born Aleksandra Kędzierska on (1984-04-13) April 13, 1984 (age 40)) is a dancer, choreographer, actress, producer, journalist and writer of Franco-Polish origin.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Life and career

Early life

Fontaine was born in Gdynia, Poland.[citation needed] She started dancing at the age of nine at the National Ballet School in Gdańsk. At sixteen, she left her parents and Poland to study neo-classical dance, choreography, and theater at the Anton Bruckner Private University for Music, Drama and Dance in Austria.[3]

Her first professional dance engagement was with the It Dansa company in Barcelona, Spain, in 2003.[4][5]

Dancing

In 2003, she became a Bluebell Girls dancer, joining the Lido cabaret in Paris,[6] where she stayed for three years.[citation needed] Fontaine was the subject of documentaries in Poland (We are from Poland on TVP Polonia) and in France (Sept à huit on TF1) 18 March 2012,[7] She appeared several times in Patrick Sébastien's show Le Plus Grand Cabaret du monde on France 2.[3]

She modeled for a year after leaving the Lido.[5]

In 2007–2008, Fontaine joined the Crazy Paris Show in Macau, China, as a cabaret dancer, performing the Can-can, India Dance, pole dance, and sway.[citation needed]

Choreographer and producer

In 2015, Fontaine founded a production company, Fontaine Media, to produce her own shows, with the first one, the revue Le Rêve (Dream), presented in July 2015 in Kraków, Poland at the Variété Theatre.[5][8]

In 2016, she presented the Theatre-Revue Show first in Singapore and then in Gdańsk.[9]

On 17 March 2018, she directed and played the role of Lidia in the adaptation of her novel La Fille à la valise at the Municipal Theatre of Perpignan, France.[10]

Actress

Fontaine took theater and acting classes at Studio Pygmalion and the Actors Studio Paris.[citation needed] In 2008, she began acting[11] as an extra in the film Taken.[6]

In 2010, she played the role of Indra in the film White as Snow by Christophe Blanc.[citation needed] The following year, she played an extra in the film Paris-Manhattan by Sophie Lellouche.[citation needed]

She acted in the short film Job Interview by Pauline Caballero in 2016.[6] She next played a teacher in L'Atelier de l'ange (Angel's Workshop) by Pierre Laffargue.[6] In 2017, she appeared in the film HHhH by Cédric Jimenez.[citation needed]

Journalist and writer

Aleksandra worked as a journalist for Polish and French magazines, focusing on cultural events.[citation needed]

She published a novel, La Fille à la valise (The Girl with the Suitcase), which she later adapted for the theater.[citation needed]
