Description
[edit]A type of speargrass with long spikes and a central flower.
Range
[edit]North Island of New Zealand, as well as some offshore islands like Mana Island.
Ecology
[edit]The common speargrass is the host plant for Lyperobius huttoni, the Speargrass Weevil.
Etymology
[edit]Squarrosa comes from the Latin for 'rough'.[3]
