It is known as the Betway Premiership for sponsorship reasons, after the premature end of the sponsorship from the league's previous sponsor, DSTV.[1] The season will run from 14 September 2024 and will be concluded in May 2025. Mamelodi Sundowns are defending champions and will defend their title after winning it in 7 consecutive seasons starting from 2017-18 season.
